Project: Develop an Alane fuel cell power system to replace current battery technology

The project has reached a significant milestone with the completion of preliminary engineering work on a Alane fuel cell power system. However, progress now hinges on the implementation of a production plant to scale volume and lower the price of Alane fuel, ensuring profitable and sustainable operation for Zipline’s drone delivery services.

However, as the demand for their services expands to cover larger areas, there arises a need for a power unit that can offer higher speed and longer range to accommodate the fixed delivery times.

Recognizing this challenge, Zipline has embarked on a project to develop an Alane fuel cell power system to replace their current battery technology. This innovative system not only reduces weight by 0.3 kilograms but also extends the range by a staggering 3.0 times. Moreover, by adjusting the range factor, Zipline has the potential to further increase speed without sacrificing range.
